Camp Descriptions

Basic Shooting Camp

Shot Perfect Specialized Shooting Camps are the only shooting camps in the United States that teach a shooting technique based on research and supported by 7 sciences including kinesiology, the study of human movement. Camps begin by videotaping each participant from the free throw line from 4 different angles simultaneously using a split screen monitor. Participants then attend a class where they are introduced to: the Shot Perfect Shooting Technique, the information and the sciences supporting it, problem identification and proven problem solving techniques, specifically designed drills, on and off the court, to enhance the Shot Perfect Shooting Technique. When applied, participants are able to shoot the ball, make the shot and have the ball Rollback to them without having to move from where the ball was shot.

At the end of the class, the videotape of each participant shooting a free throw is reviewed and analyzed by a Shot Perfect Shooting Analyst. Most participants attending the class, almost immediately, are able to accurately identify their own shooting problems and now know what problem solving techniques are needed for optimal shooting performance. Participants are then provided practice time as each participant is assisted applying the Shot Perfect Shooting Technique by a member of the Shot Perfect Staff. Once participants are seen shooting the ball more accurately and consistently, they are videotaped and analyzed again. Participants are then introduced to specific, on and off the court, drills designed to enhance the Shot Perfect Shooting Technique. (Much like a baby must first learn how to stand and/or walk before running, a good shooter must first learn how to shot an accurate and consistent free throw before learning how to shoot a “true” and accurate jump-shot.) Participants are then introduced to a “true” jump-shot versus a “push” shot as well as where these higher and lower percentage jump-shots are taken. Participants are then introduced to basic post moves including how to identify and shoot a proper hook and hook-shot. They learn how to identify their own strengths and weaknesses and where and when their strengths and weaknesses should be used in game situations. They are also taught how to defend others in the post though manipulation. (Learning how to shoot the ball actually teaches these shooters how to better defend other shooters more effectively including how to block shots with less chance of fouling). Participants then take a short post-test. This test allows us the opportunity to evaluate each participants shooting knowledge before they leave camp so we know they have the intelligence to continue working on shooting the perfect shot. Finally, participants are introduced to future camp opportunities (“Tune-Up” Camps) and discounts. The camp concludes with a competitive game of Rollback. Pictures are taken and the Rollback Champion Award is presented. MUST PRE-REGISTER 4 WKS PRIOR
